Music Memorandum

I am very proud to announce that as of today, I am returning to the Germany Germany project.

Last August, after releasing Adventures in May and playing some really fun shows in Europe, I realized that it was time for a break.  I never intended for this project to take over my life the way it did.  After trying to make some more music and ultimately failing, I announced my indefinite hiatus from music.  I had never felt so relieved in my life.  I built an electronic light installation (info here) and spent more time with my friends.  Thankfully, as time wore on I felt more and more inclined to create, and that is what I’ve done.  I feel different, maybe a little wiser and a little more mature.

Maybe a bit like in the first Lord of the Rings when Gandalf dies, then (spoiler alert) he comes back to life later as Gandalf the White.  Maybe a bit like that.

The next Germany Germany album, the true successor to Adventures, is called Blank Mind Empty Heart.

The first two songs I’m releasing from this album are called Departure and Disconnect, the second featuring Steffaloo on vocals once again (she sang on Just Go and the collab project Toy Camera).  They are both slower, thoughtful, maybe a bit pensive.  Actually, a lot of the album will be like that, though there are a few bangers that I think will be pretty interesting when done.
